Fear vs Facts - How to Spot Fear Based Marketing & NOT Get Sold on False Facts.
If someone is making negative claims of any kind ask them to validate those claims.

What can I say but happy May! Last I wrote it was winter in my neck of the woods and now I’m doing gardening moves on my plate as my back it ‘encouraging’ me to….
Today’s note may be old news to some that follow me on social media, but I wanted to ensure all of my subscribers are aware and on the lookout for some really underhanded marketing tactics out there. Very derogatory, uneducated statements stemming from a lineal/vertical plate manufacturer and social media group.
For context, I started in lineal/vertical plate movement, medical grade almost 20 years ago in my studio. Most don’t realize these types of machines aren’t what’s being sold mass market. Any research or claims being made 99% of the time are NOT RELATED to the equipment being recommended, they are praying on your lack of understanding.
I’m getting a increase in messages bringing these negative claims to my attention, thank you to those sharing feedback with me, I’m sorry if you have been abused by engaging with this group, it reflects negatively on the entire vibration plate industry.
I’m also seeing far too many people taking false claims at face value So let’s clear this up.
Watch for the bait-and-switch:
- Big-name brands mentioned as a hook… then pushed toward something else.
- No proof. Just “trust me.”
- That’s not guidance, that’s marketing.
Be particularly cautious of claims like:
- “Linear/vertical is the only safe option”
- “Oscillating/side-to-side is harmful”
Serious accusations that are completely FALSE, it's just well crafted fear porn aimed at getting you to buy into their BS. I see cycles of these claims and as people use online AI tools more and more for research, these claims can seem truthful but few dig deeper or ask for supportive research to substantiate. You won’t find it, doesn’t exist.
Both Oscillating and lineal platforms have been used for years in rehab, clinical, and general fitness settings with almost 50 years of related research. Labeling any machine as “harmful” is just a sales tactic, and shows a lack of integrity.
Watch how questions are handled - If people get shut down instead of getting actual help or any clear answers, that’s a BIG red flag.
For context — I’ve worked with both linear and oscillating systems for 20+ years and am trained on foundational platforms in both. I’ve seen how each is used properly. Blanket claims like this don’t reflect real-world use.
Good products, companies and people will stand up to questions and welcome them. They don’t rely on fear.
